The router is a tool that is used to round over edges or make a channel. It can be used with a router table or without one. The router table is simply a hand held router attached under a table and you, the operator, move the wood into the bit instead of moving the machine over the wood like when you are free handing. Pay close attention to the direction that you are feeding the material into the cutter as it will grab the material and throw it! The router takes several different attachments as you can see in the picture at left. Always practice on a scrap piece of wood to make sure you have the bit you want and to see if the depth is set correctly.
